This study was done to explore the gender difference in relationship between reading habits of students in public sector college libraries of district Gujranwala. “Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body”. Reading is a key for acquisition of knowledge, skills and expression of thought especially in this modern era of science and technology. The college library plays a vital role in the promotion of reading habits among students. A survey was carried out from a sample of 375 students of the 15 colleges of Gujranwala district. Structured Questionnaire was used to collect information from the population. However, there was no gender difference found in reading habits of public sector college students. So, this study recommends that there should be a functional library for both male and female to improve their reading habits.

The purpose of this study is to explore the application of marketing strategies and marketing mix by the 46 public libraries of a province of Punjab, Pakistan, It is concluded that although the marketing mix was not implemented as a pre-defined method but various existing services adequately fit the description. Reference services, face-to-face user’s assistance, and Current Awareness Service (CAS) are the core services and communication channel for promotion of library services and products. The librarians were well trained, empowered and convivial. Libraries have sufficient space and charge a nominal fee for some services. This study also aims to fill the gap of the research on marketing techniques applications by public libraries

The main objectives of this study were to know the factors supporting librarians’ attitudes in the adoption of technology and the impact of IT on libraries and librarians’ working behaviours. The study was conducted in three phases. Firstly, relevant literature was reviewed and data collection tool was developed. The population of the study was professional library staff working in the university libraries of Lahore. The response rate was 76% due to serious efforts of the researcher. Secondly, gathered data were analyzed through SPSS Version 24.0 and conclusions were drawn. In the final phase, recommendations were drawn along with discussion. Findings of the study show that Information Technology has brought a positive impact in the libraries and the lives of library practitioners. IT has raised the standard of libraries and the image of library professionals. Computer literacy is very supportive in the successful application of information technologies in the libraries. Factor of personal interest is very fruitful for implementing emerging information technologies in the libraries. Sufficient budget and participation in IT-related training workshops prove very helpful in the successful application of information technologies in the libraries Findings and recommendations of this study can be a helpful source for library practitioners, HEC Pakistan, policy makers and decision making bodies for increasing positivity in library professionals’ attitude towards the implementation of emerging technologies in the libraries.
